Hayley's Surgery

If you want to stress a Mama out, just tell her that her baby needs surgery! I was a basket case! Hayley's tonsils were so large that she pretty much had an obstructive airway so they had to be removed. Hayley was such a big girl about it the whole thing and did just what everyone asked of her. There was a lady who came to play and talk with her about what was going to happen to her. She, as always was in her own little world loving all the attention and being by herself!

The lady gave her a doll so she could practice doing what they were going to do to her.
I was VERY proud of the face Hayley drew on her doll.
Putting hair on her.
Waiting...Mima helping her with her coloring book and stickers.
She's had her "happy juice"...
LOVE this picture. Such a big girl and has really no clue what's going on. All she knows is that she is getting a LOT of attention and she LOVES it!

Getting a little crazy now. She's under the sheets.

Now, shes getting sleepy.
And, she's done. Poor thing, I feel so bad for her.
(Notice the sticker on the sheet, it and several others made it into surgery...hehe)

They were concerned about her size, age, getting dehydrated and having to stay with a fluid IV. But, our little trooper was so used to her throat hurting that it really didn't phase her at all. She wanted something to drink and eat! So, we got to leave.

Ready to go home but not feeling well.
When we got home, that evening she ate 6 Popsicles!!
GO HAYLEY!

Trying to keep her calm is like trying to keep the Tasmanian devil contained!
Green Popsicle mouth!
Yogurt Stick!
Blue mouth!
Hannah making sure Hayley is OK.
We had to go for a follow up a week after her surgery. This is what she did in the waiting room...
My big girl!
The doctor said that he hadn't seen a recovery go so well and fast. In one week, she was 95% healed and released to eat and play as she wanted. I was supposed to be 2-3 week recovery.
**UPDATE**
Going into surgery, Hayley weighed 22 lbs. at her one month checkup, she had gained 4 lbs.! She hadn't gained any weight before that since her 2 year check up!
