Salado 2012

Well, it's that time of year again where we hit the road for our annual mother/daughter/granddaughter trip to Salado, TX! This year was a bit different in the fact that we took a sitter with us. It turned out to be such a help since the girls still nap and some of the shops are so small and have such breakable things in it. We left Thursday night when Morgan (our sitter) got off work and headed to Dallas. When we got there, Mima had gotten the girls new pajamas and house shoes so, Hannah wanted to model them and for me to take pictures...

The next morning, we got up and had breakfast before hitting the road again for Salado.
On the way we stopped for lunch at a Mexican restaurant. Sarah Beth kinda REALLY enjoyed the cheese dip, guacamole, and salsa...

We finally made it to Salado...

We started by going to the little craft fair they have in the park and wouldn't you know, they had snow machines!! The girls LOVED it!! So what if it was December and 80 degrees out, the girls got to play in SNOW!

Then, being in the "cold" spirit the girls wanted these cute little hat, scarf, mitten things...

And, SB got a monkey hat...very fitting.

A man at the park, had a motorcycle with a HUGE snowman sitting on it and he was nice enough to let the girls sit and take a picture. Notice how the first picture of all three are just alike!

The next morning, the girls were all looking out the window (Morgan was with them, she just stepped to the side to take a picture) and I thought it was so cute.
Then, we headed to the creek to throw some rocks and play around while we waited for the stores to open...
We also attempted a cute picture of the three of them but you know how that goes if you've read very much of this blog!

Finally, one that looks OK!
A few little photo stops...

I think by far the girls favorite thing was having lunch at the tea room...

The lady there was so sweet and brought them Dr Pepper in a teapot with tea cups for them to have a little tea party...

After lunch, Morgan took the girls back to the hotel to nap while mom and I went shopping a little more. When they all got up, Morgan dressed them in their cute Christmas dresses so we could go see Santa.

Then, it was SB's turn...
Well, SB and Morgan's turn...haha!

This girl does NOT like Santa AT ALL!

After Santa and dinner, we went for a horse and carriage ride.

There was all kinds of Christmas music playing and Hayley took the opportunity to DANCE, LIKE NO ONE WAS WATCHING...LOVE THIS KID, NOT A CARE IN THE WORLD!!

On our last day, we went back to the creek and let the girls play a little and took some more pictures.
Three generations...

There was a tree by the creek that had hundreds of butterflies on it! It was amazing!
Hannah checking one out...
They were so little...
Being still trying to see if any will land...
Looking at them...

It's hard to see but all those black spots are butterflies...

We also went to the park to play a little bit...

We stopped at the mall on our drive home. I gave them suckers so they would sit still while we were looking. I know this picture is blurry but I love Hay's little face...
YUMMY!
Modeling some ladies footwear...

Notice Morgan ready to catch Hay at any moment? She was a little unstable on those big heels.

They talked Mima in to an Icee...

When we got back to Mima's, we celebrated her birthday (which was that day). The girls and I had made her a cake before we left and they had picked her out some party stuff...
The girls LOVE their Mima and LOVE birthday's. They are at a fun age where they want to help and just have fun with life!
Singing...

Opening her gift...

Then, we had a "snack picnic" for dinner...
The next morning, we headed home. It was another awesome year in Salado!!
