Birth-1 Month

I have decided that blogging is hard work! I mean I have hundreds of pictures of the girls and I can't possibly post all of them but it's hard to pick which ones I want to show everyone. Anyway, since I am behind on getting this thing started I am going to back track yet again to their birth-month 1. Then, I will do month 2 and be up to date. So, forgive me again for a lengthy blog...

Let's go back to July 2, 2009, "birthday"! I was scheduled for a c-section that morning because both babies were breech. I was hoping for a "normal" delivery (whatever that is) but now that I had the "section", it was great! Well, except for all the medicine, it made me so out of it. Anyway, onto the good stuff. We had to be at the hospital at 5:00 a.m. and we got SO much sleep the night before (haha). Mom had spent the night to go with us early and help capture everything on film...

Right when I got there, they had me change into my gown. This made it REAL!

After they put everything into the computer and gave me my IV's it was off to the OR and in less than an hour, we had two beautiful girls. Talk about the best feeling in the world...

This was the first time I got to hold them...

Miss Hannah Jane Cossey~6:51 am, 6 lbs. 8 oz., 19"

Miss Hayley Marie Cossey~6:52 am, 3 lbs. 15 oz., 17.5"
Not expecting "Peanut" as the nurses called her, to be so little we ended up having to spend 14 days in the hospital (until she was 4 lbs. and could keep her temp. up). Here was our "dorm" or room we got to stay in...

Here is daddy changing his first diaper...

Cecil Ray is one proud daddy!!
I had decided to make and monogram their outfits that they would wear home. Little did I know that they would be WAY too big but we made them work!

First nap at home...

First Baths...
There are a million pictures of the next three weeks of their lives and a lot of visitors but I can't put them all up (the girls are a little demanding of my time right now). So, onto week four...I had to go for my check up. They had been out once before to go to the doctor.
And here is Dr. Cardenas who delivered them just at the right time...THANK YOU! He is so wonderful and we love him to death!

Nothing sums it up more than this...
Sister Love!
That is about all that went on in their first month of life. We couldn't go anywhere until they got bigger (except the doctor). And, they didn't do anything except sleep, eat and make dirty diapers. Developmentally, they will be about 4 weeks behind reaching milestones at first since they were 4 weeks early. But, we work hard everyday to catch up and learn as much as we can.

Next up will be month 2!!
